旅行理论视阈下林语堂《浮生六记》翻译研究

旅行理论于1983年由萨义德提出,该理论的提出,为翻译研究提供了一个新的视角。翻译活动和旅行一样,也是一种传递信息、传播文化的有效途径。旅行过程中,一个人从始发地到达目的地,途中会伴随着各种信息的流动和传播。同样的,翻译是时间和空间上的移动,自身也是一种跨文化的交际活动,同样的也传播了文化。所以,将翻译视为原文本从一种语境跨境旅行到另一个语境,这是一个研究翻译的新视角。萨义德认为,文本的旅行和理论旅行在过程上是一致的,包含出发、旅程和到达三个阶段。译者对文本的翻译就是旅行的开始,在翻译过程中因为受到文化和语言差异的影响,会导致译者对文本做一些变形处理。最后,文本到达新的环境,可能会被接纳或者受到排斥。本文以林语堂翻译的《浮生六记》为例,运用萨义德的旅行理论,通过原文本和译文本的对照分析,分析了译者在翻译文本时做出的变形。具体体现为,译者在翻译时采用了多种翻译方法来改写原文,使译文在旅行中能够更好地被接受。最后,作者阐述了该研究得出的结论:原文本《浮生六记》在跨际旅行过程中,因为受到文化和语言等其他因素的影响和制约,文本产生变形。同时,正是因为在译者操控下产生的这些变形,使得文本旅行结果顺利,文本在新的环境中得以接受。
