【摘要】：工业遗产作为人类文化进步与历史发展的见证物，具有非常重要的多重价值。自上世纪90年代以来，我国的城市发展进入了快速城市化时期，社会经济的转型和产业结构的调整使得传统工业区的建筑条件及其外部空间环境、基础设施条件等表现出了滞后与老化的现象，在纷纷遭遇产业衰败后逐步被迁出市区或是被遗弃。于是城市中便出现了大量废旧厂房、工业废弃地等的遗存，其内部建筑破损坍塌，植物杂乱丛生，有的甚至逐渐发展为城市垃圾的堆弃点，整体表现出一幅破败、没有活力的城市景象，影响着城市的环境品质和整体风貌，同时也掩盖了工业遗产的文化内涵。虽然目前有关工业遗产保护再利用的研究已取得了一定的成效，一些旧工业区的环境风貌也得到了改善，但目前的多数工业遗产改造建设都更侧重于旧工业建筑内部空间的更新利用，相比之下对工业遗产建筑外部空间的更新设计则略显不足，随着人们对生活质量和生活环境的要求在不断的提升，城市旧工业区外部空间环境的改造也逐渐引起了更多人群的关注，工业遗产建筑外部空间的更新建设仍然还有很大的发展空间。 论文采用文献整理、实地调查和比较研究的方法，选择现有的具有代表性的工业遗址区进行调查研究，整理解析出工业遗产建筑外部空间改造的发展趋势和更新策略，并结合国内外多个实例的分析比较，进一步完善工业遗产复兴的理论与实践，达到恢复工业遗产建筑外部空间的活力，提高其使用效率，满足人们对建筑外部空间的多样化需求。 论文分五章来研究当代工业遗产建筑外部空间更新设计： 第一章为提出问题部分，主要是对工业遗产及建筑外部空间的相关概念做了界定，并将研究核心集中在当代工业遗产建筑外部空间的更新设计上，确定了研究的目的、意义以及结构框架，并对目前关于工业遗产更新改造的相关理论做了整理。 第二、三章为分析问题部分，这部分首先对工业遗产建筑外部空间进行解析，分别从分类、形式、构成要素及空间特点等方面进行阐述。其次是对工业遗产建筑外部空间的改造价值进行分析，并对其更新设计中的相关影响因素进行分类阐述。最后是根据相关改造案例进行实地调研，，分析整理出工业遗产建筑外部空间更新设计的发展趋势和改造策略。 第四章是本文的重点，为解决问题部分，这部分先以外部空间中人的行为活动研究为基础，分析人的行为活动对建筑外部空间的需求，再从空间单元形式和构成等方面阐述工业遗产建筑外部空间更新设计的要点和方法。 第五章是理论联系实际的部分，主要结合笔者参与的绵阳市朝阳厂改造设计的亲身体会，对前文理论进行进一步的阐述，并进一步说明工业遗产建筑外部空间更新设计的思路和特点。 最后部分是全文的结语及对未来工业遗产建筑外部空间更新建设的展望。
