“末日危城”的想象书写—老舍《猫城记》新探

【摘要】：本文在总结他人研究成果的基础上,试图从末日想象的角度去讨论老舍长篇小说《猫城记》,并以此为契机梳理中国科幻小说中的末日题材创作。第一章,首先关注老舍创作《猫城记》之前的曲折身世,作为末日想象的现实动机,并认为清末的坎坷童年、青年时期接触基督教以及留英期间接触英美作家这三个重要阶段为老舍的末日想象做了铺垫。并由此追溯文化层面的末日想象,从宗教、文学、哲学的角度分析末日想象的源头,并比较中外的差异性,作为《猫城记》的想象源流。第二章,集中分析《猫城记》中老舍是如何来具体表现末日景象的。我们认为是通过一系列形象构筑起来的,首先是人的堕落,在这之中是形体的变异、思想的扭曲以及启蒙者的迷失。其次是刻画了一座毁灭之城,“灰色”、“人群”、“毁灭的巨指”这些意象来进行渲染末日气氛。最后探讨老舍在这种绝望与焦虑下的思想和创作寻求的解决办法,那就是对理想人物的刻画和家国意识的觉醒。第三章,探讨老舍《猫城记》这样的末日想象的意义,主要是将之放入中国科幻小说史中去评价,发现它是对梁启超、包天笑等清末末日题材科幻小说的继承和发扬。而其中对本民族的忧虑和反思,也被新时期以来的当代中国科幻小说家所继承。同时也为《猫城记》是否是一部科幻小说提供了新的看法。
[Abstract]:On the basis of summarizing the research achievements of others, this paper attempts to discuss Lao She's novel Cat City from the perspective of apocalyptic imagination, and at the same time combs the doomsday theme in Chinese science fiction. The first chapter focuses on the tortuous life before Lao She's creation of Cat City, as the realistic motive of the apocalyptic imagination, and considers the bumpy childhood of the late Qing Dynasty. The three important stages of exposure to Christianity in youth and to British and American writers during his stay in England paved the way for Lao She's apocalyptic imagination. From this point of view, the author traces the cultural apocalyptic imagination, analyzes the source of the apocalyptic imagination from the angle of religion, literature and philosophy, and compares the differences between China and foreign countries, which is regarded as the source of imagination in Cat City. Chapter two focuses on how Lao She shows the apocalyptic scene in Cat City. We believe that it is constructed by a series of images, first of all, the depravity of human beings, in which is the variation of form, the distortion of thought and the loss of the enlighteners. Secondly, it depicts a city of destruction, gray, crowd, and the giant finger of destruction to render the apocalyptic atmosphere. Finally, this paper discusses the solutions to Lao She's thoughts and creation under this kind of despair and anxiety, that is, the portrayal of ideal characters and the awakening of the consciousness of home and country. The third chapter discusses the meaning of the apocalyptic imagination of Lao She, mainly puts it into the history of Chinese sci-fi novels and finds that it inherits and develops the science-fiction of the end of Qing Dynasty such as Liang Qichao and Bao Tianxiao. Meanwhile, the anxiety and reflection of this nation have been inherited by the contemporary Chinese science fiction writers since the new era. It also provides a new perspective on whether Cat City is a science fiction novel.
