移动的受众商品:无线世界的数字劳动

【摘要】:在互联网驱动的移动设备(Internet-enabled mobile devices,IMDs)普及的今天,本文重新审视了达拉斯·斯麦兹的理论成果。在一个连接无处不在的时代,斯麦兹对于受众"工作"开创性的分析提供了一个历史连续体,使我们得以在日常生活中理解IMDs的大量出现。沿着斯麦兹的分析路径,本文认为,IMDs所保证和支持的有偿的与无酬的数字劳动的扩张,促成了传播的总体动员、认知与协作能力——这些能力处于"信息资本主义"积累策略的核心。因此,全球范围内对IMDs快速的接纳和使用成了这种动员和吸纳的有机组成部分。斯麦兹强调传播及其相关技术在对当代政治经济学批判分析中的核心作用,本文与这一立场相一致,并通过反思斯麦兹的受众商品理论来详述数字劳动的理念,而受众商品理论是IMDs技术和社会变迁的中心原则。
[Abstract]:With the popularity of Internet-enabled mobile devices (IMDs), this paper reexamines the theoretical results of Dallas Spitz.In an age of ubiquitous connectivity, Spitz's groundbreaking analysis of the audience's "work" provides a historical continuum that allows us to understand the proliferation of IMDs in our daily lives.Along the path of Smez's analysis, this paper argues that the expansion of paid and unpaid digital labour guaranteed and supported by IMDs has contributed to the overall mobilization of communication.Cognitive and cooperative abilities-these abilities are at the core of the accumulation strategy of information capitalism.Therefore, the rapid acceptance and use of IMDs around the world has become an integral part of this mobilization and absorption.Spitz emphasizes the central role of communication and related technologies in the critical analysis of contemporary political economy. This paper is consistent with this position and elaborates on the concept of digital labor by reflecting on Smaze's theory of audience commodities.The audience commodity theory is the central principle of IMDs technology and social change.
