基于集中式接入网的协议处理实体虚拟化研究

【摘要】:随着移动通信技术的不断发展,移动通信业务量和网络流量呈现爆炸式增长,传统的蜂窝式接入网架构已经逐渐失去优势。因此,能适应未来新环境且高性能低成本的集中式接入网的概念和架构应运而生。中科院计算所提出的超级基站网络架构就属于集中式接入网架构,通过引入基站虚拟化技术为基站处理资源的共享和灵活分配创造了良好的基础,从而减少建设和维护基站的开销。因此,本文基于基站虚拟化中协议处理实体虚拟化展开研究,具体内容如下:(1)针对基于KVM协议处理资源虚拟化平台不便于对运行在其中的协议处理实体管理的问题,本文通过研究上层管控工具Virt-manager和OpenStack对虚拟化平台进行管控,并采用具有不同特征的测试工具针对虚拟化平台损耗与负载两项关键指标进行测评。结果表明KVM虚拟化技术在一定程度上可以满足超级基站对协议处理资源平台虚拟化的性能要求。(2)针对传统测试工具难以全面包含协议栈的特征,本文基于非面向连接协议的算法设计了一种能够较全面体现出协议栈特征的测试程序。该程序由用户侧的基准程序和基站侧的基站协议栈软件两部分构成,综合考虑了实际协议栈中所需维护的多项信息,并对基站接收上行数据进行模拟,最终在平台中对程序运行效果进行验证。(3)针对协议处理实体在虚拟化平台动态迁移中耗时长且丢包的问题,本文基于KVM的预拷贝算法,同时结合通信业务的特点,建立了一种迁移成本模型。模型主要考虑了频繁变化的脏页量,通过在系统中添加共享存储节点的方法以减少这种类型的脏页量传输。在超级基站环境中的测试结果表明,新的架构可在一定程度上减少迁移耗时与丢包。
[Abstract]:With the continuous development of mobile communication technology, mobile communication traffic and network traffic show explosive growth, the traditional cellular access network architecture has gradually lost its advantages. Therefore, the concept and architecture of centralized access network which can adapt to the new environment and high performance and low cost emerges as the times require. The super base station network architecture proposed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences belongs to the centralized access network architecture, which creates a good foundation for the sharing and flexible allocation of base station processing resources by introducing base station virtualization technology, thus reducing the cost of building and maintaining base stations. Therefore, this paper studies the virtualization of protocol processing entity in base station virtualization, the specific contents are as follows: (1) in view of the problem that the virtualization platform of resource processing based on KVM protocol is not convenient to manage the protocol processing entity running in it, this paper studies the upper control tools Virt-manager and OpenStack to control the virtualization platform. The test tools with different characteristics are used to evaluate the loss and load of virtualization platform. The results show that KVM virtualization technology can meet the performance requirements of super base station for protocol processing resource platform virtualization to a certain extent. (2) aiming at the fact that traditional testing tools are difficult to include protocol stack in an all-round way, this paper designs a test program based on non-connection protocol algorithm, which can fully reflect the characteristics of protocol stack. The program is composed of two parts: the reference program on the user side and the base station protocol stack software on the base station side. Considering many kinds of information needed to be maintained in the actual protocol stack, and simulating the uplink data received by the base station, the running effect of the program is verified in the platform. (3) aiming at the problem that the protocol processing entity takes a long time and loses packets in the dynamic migration of the virtualization platform, this paper is based on the pre-copy algorithm of KVM. At the same time, according to the characteristics of communication service, a migration cost model is established. The model mainly considers the frequently changing number of dirty pages, and reduces this type of dirty page transmission by adding shared storage nodes to the system. The test results in super base station environment show that the new architecture can reduce migration time and packet loss to a certain extent.
