【摘要】：在清末民初社会剧烈变革、转型的特殊时期,陈伯陶对于西方自由民主学说有着较为肤浅单薄的认识,思想上具有混淆中西、新旧杂陈的时代痕迹。晚清新政期间,陈伯陶接触西方自由民主学说,视其为洪水猛兽。避地香港后,他以遗民自居,活动亦多充满遗民色彩。陈伯陶寓居香港后的活动,值得注意的有两件,一个是发起宋台秋唱活动,一个是于溥仪大婚时北上京城。陈伯陶著述甚多,其中史学考证方面取得的成就最大,尤以[民国]《东莞县志》和《胜朝粤东遗民录》、《宋东莞遗民录》、《明季东莞五忠传》三部遗民传录最有价值。三部遗民传录的成书缘起及经过甚为相似,陈伯陶作为清季遗民,与前代遗民异世同感,他试图用前代遗民的忠贞事迹自我激励,表彰忠义,以正人心从而“植民彝、扶世教”。遗民传录的文献价值主要在于保存遗民史实和遗民作品,为研究明末清初历史及岭南遗民活动提供了大量的珍贵史料。陈伯陶所著三部遗民传录,不仅于保存史料有功,更详加考订,殊为可贵。但是局限于其遗民立场,著述目的仍是弘扬封建士大夫敦尚节义的气节以自励,具有一定的思想局限性。关于三部遗民传录的版本流传情况,本文备列相关版本,以供学者寻书资考。[民国]《东莞县志》是陈伯陶主持下,集体创作的成果。是志征引宏富,考订准确,为东莞历代县志之集大成者。其纂修方法于今日纂修地方志,借鉴之处有三,一为广为遮拾,一为注重考证,一为体例创新。[民国]《东莞县志》的学术成就主要在保存史料有功和考证翔实,是学者研究东莞地方历史的重要参考书。陈伯陶带着遗民思想纂修史,史料取舍自有其主观性。总体而言,陈伯陶的史学著述,仍是瑕不掩瑜。

The recording document value mainly lies in the preservation of historical facts and their adherents of works, provides a lot of valuable historical materials for the study of history in late Ming and early Qing Dynasty and south of the Five Ridges Dynasty activities.
