[Abstract]:By combing the relevant literature, this paper finds that before 1924, the Chinatown in the west coast of Canada formed a city because of the reasons of policy making, labor shortage, market demand, resource allocation and social organization. The three complementary Chinatowns of mining and agriculture; During the implementation of the Chinese exclusion Act from 1924 to 1947, the Chinese economy and life suffered a heavy blow from both the policy and the folk. The ethnic group economy and employment of the Chinese have changed markedly. As a result of social discrimination, the Chinese labor force can only be forced to flow to a limited number of industries represented by catering, which caused the Chinese culture to begin its localization and other cultures in Canada to accept the two-way process of cultural elements of Chinese culture. The Chinatowns of North America are material carriers that witness the process of change.
