美国和平队志愿者在中国的跨文化适应性研究

不同文化背景的人群在相互交际的过程中会彼此影响,变化也随之发生。对于这些变化人们如何应对,这也成为跨文化交际领域研究的课题。美国和平队是世界上最大的志愿者组织之一,进入中国服务也已经有二十多年了。因此,对于和平队志愿者在中国的跨文化适应性研究很有意义,也是很必要的。本研究基于Colleen Ward的ABC模型,从情感,行为和认知三个层面来探索美国和平队志愿者在中国的跨文化经历。这三个层面分别对应了跨文化适应研究领域的三种视角:压力与应对策略,文化学习和身份认同。本研究从这三个层面调查了影响和平队志愿者适应状况的相关因素及其适应结果,即心理适应和社会文化适应状况。本文采用了深度访谈的方式,对位于中国西北地区甘肃省的18名和平队志愿者进行了调查,从上述三个层面探究了影响和平队志愿者适应过程的因素以及这些因素之间的相互关联。情感层面:在文化迁移过程中,志愿者经历了不同程度的文化休克,产生了不同程度的心理压力。良好的动机,及时、多样且有效的社会支持能很好地缓解志愿者在异质文化中的心理适应压力,产生积极地适应结果。行为层面:在新的文化环境中,学习和掌握必要的生存技能,比如语言,风俗等,可以帮助...
