晚清中国留美学生的构成及社会影响研究（1872—1911）

【摘要】：本文主要研究晚清(1872-1911年)留美学生的构成及其对中国社会的影响问题。晚清留美学生作为中西文化交流的桥梁,不仅是西学的实践者,也是西学东传的中坚力量,他们中许多人学成归国后,投入到晚清社会的变革中去,成为当时的中流砥柱,涌现出了一批近代资产阶级民主革命家、教育家和科学家,他们为中国的近现代化作出巨大贡献,影响深远。本文分三个组成部分,论文的内容概述如下：第一部分,对晚清留美学生的身份构成作尽可能深层次的探究,目的是对晚清留美史上不同阶段留美学生的身份构成和派遣来源进行梳理与交代。第二部分,从晚清留美学生赴美的原因方面进行探讨,着重对晚清官派幼童赴美的原因、清末新政对晚清留美运动的促进和“庚款留美”潮形成的原因进行研究。第三部分,从晚清留美学生归国后对近现代中国的社会影响方面着手,探讨留美学生对近现代中国社会的政治、经济、文化、教育、科技等方面的深远影响。
[Abstract]:This paper mainly studies the composition of students studying in the United States in the late Qing Dynasty (1872-1911) and their influence on Chinese society. As a bridge between Chinese and Western cultural exchanges, the students studying in the United States in the late Qing Dynasty are not only practitioners of western learning, but also the backbone of the eastward transmission of western studies. Many of them became mainstays of the late Qing Dynasty after they had learned and returned to their country, and a number of modern bourgeois democratic revolutionaries, educators and scientists emerged. They have made great contributions to the nearly modernization of China and have far-reaching influence. This paper is divided into three parts. The contents of this paper are summarized as follows:. In the first part, the author probes into the identity of the students studying in the United States in the late Qing Dynasty as far as possible, with the purpose of sorting out and explaining the identity composition and the sending sources of the students in different stages of the history of the late Qing Dynasty studying in the United States. The second part, from the late Qing Dynasty students studying in the United States to explore the reasons, focusing on the late Qing government send young children to the United States, the late Qing Dynasty New deal to the late Qing Dynasty to stay in the United States movement and the formation of the "Gangbujiu" tide. In the third part, from the aspect of the social influence of the students studying in the United States in the late Qing Dynasty on modern China, the author discusses the profound influence of the students in the United States on the politics, economy, culture, education, science and technology of the modern Chinese society.
