“另面”突破:戊戌变法与张之洞研究的新进境

【摘要】：在戊戌变法史这一研究领域,从来不乏批判性观点,但在批判性反思之后,发掘新史料(特别是康、梁一派以外的材料)、重建新史实者,洵不易觏。茅海建新著《戊戌变法的另面:"张之洞档案"阅读笔记》,在此一方面取得重要突破。本文在介绍该书研究特色及其学术贡献的同时,重点抓住张之洞的情报网络及该书揭橥的晚清中国的人情世故和官场百态,进行引申性补充说明,认为茅海建该书不仅成功揭示了戊戌变法的"另面",也生动诠释了晚清重臣张之洞的"另面"、晚清官场的"另面",丰富了晚清政治史的研究内容,提示了晚清史研究的新路径。
[Abstract]:In the field of study on the history of the Reform Movement of 1898, there has never been no lack of critical viewpoints, but after critical reflection, it is not easy to dig out new historical materials (especially materials other than Kang, Liang Yi faction, and rebuild new historical facts). Mao Haijian's new book, the other side of the Reform Movement of 1898: the Reading Notes of Zhang Zhidong Files, has made an important breakthrough in this respect. While introducing the research features and academic contributions of the book, this paper focuses on the intelligence network of Zhang Zhidong and the worldly and official nature of China in the late Qing Dynasty, so as to provide an extended supplementary explanation. It is believed that Mao Haijian's book not only successfully reveals the "other side" of the Reform Movement of 1898, but also vividly interprets the "other side" of the important official Zhang Zhidong of the late Qing Dynasty and the "other side" of the official field of the late Qing Dynasty, which enriches the research contents of the political history of the late Qing Dynasty and suggests a new way to study the history of the late Qing Dynasty.
