【摘要】：平壤之战是甲午战争期间中日两军在朝鲜进行的大规模战斗。1894年6月3日(光绪二十年四月三十日),清政府应朝鲜国王之请,派直隶提督叶志超、太原镇总兵聂士成率部前往朝鲜,协助镇压朝鲜东学党起义。觊觎朝鲜已久的日本以此为借口,旋即派兵占据汉城至仁川一带的战略要地,控制了釜山和仁川港,并胁迫朝鲜政府,朝鲜半岛局势骤然紧张。7月25日,清军运输船只在丰岛附近遭日军偷袭,高升号被击沉。27日,清军与日军在成欢激战,清军退至平壤,与清政府所派卫汝贵盛字军、马玉昆毅字军、左宝贵奉军和丰升阿奉天练军盛字营及吉林练军会合。9月15日,日军向清军发动进攻,平壤之战打响。由于清军部署不当、主帅怯战、补给不足等原因,当天即溃败,至24日清军全部退回国内。平壤之战中虽然不乏作战英勇敢于牺牲的清军官兵,但也暴露了清军的脆弱和缺陷,不仅致清军完全退出朝鲜,而且日本由此摸清了清军的作战实力,为其进一步扩大战争,谋求侵略,埋下了伏笔。现由馆藏宫中朱批奏折,军机处录副奏折、上谕档、电报档等档案中选编有关平壤之战的史料,其中涉及战前部署、战斗情况、战后奖惩相关人员等内容,可供研究参考。
