The coordination degree between environmental and economic development, the dynamic trend of coordination degree from 1990 to 1997 in Chengdu were analysed in the paper. At the same time,the types of coordination development were classified. Finally, the author set forth the conclusion that Chengdu fall into the same category of good coordination, but the standard of environmental development is far away behind the level of economic development.

从城市环境与经济发展的协调度方面分析了成都市 1 990 -1 997年间协调度的变化趋势 ,评估了成都市城市环境与经济协调发展的类型 ,得出了成都市属于总体协调发展类环境滞后型的结论。

Based on building the model of coordinated development degree,this paper analyzes the change of the coordination degree and evaluates the types of coordination development in Xinyi(1990 -1998). The following conclusions are drawn: 1) The level of environmental quality is far away behind economic development in developing counties. 2) Counties in developing region may attain virtuous coordinated development between economy and environment definitely.
