【摘要】：正刘子翼,武后朝宰相刘yN之之父,以文史、孝名著称,《旧唐书·刘yN之传》云:"父子翼,善吟讽,有学行。隋大业初,历秘书监,河东柳顾言甚重之。性不容非,朋僚有短,常面折之。友人李伯药常称曰:‘刘四虽复骂人,人都不恨。’"(1)《新唐书·刘yN之传》所记更为简略:"父子翼,字小心,在隋为著作郎。峭直有行,尝面折僚友短,退无余訾。"(2)此外,《元和姓纂》"临淮刘氏"(3),新出《刘yN之墓志》(4)均不及子翼仕隋官职,
