赞比亚大学图书馆远程教育服务评价

对于那些没有机会进入大学等高等教育机构的学生来说,想要为其提供世界范围内各种各样的教育,远程教育是最受欢迎的教育形式之一。像赞比亚这样的发展中国家,在没有足够的基础教育设施的情况下满足日益增长的人口对于教育的需求,远程教育无疑成了最佳的选择。 赞比亚大学作为高等教育机构之一,提供远程教育已有35年的历史。近几年,赞比亚大学接受远程教育的学生经历了一个快速的增长时期,从赞比亚大学远程教育办公处得到的信息表明接受远程教育的学生从1996/7学年度的314人到2003/4学年度的1165人。因此学校的管理者已经采取了一系列的措施,旨在提高远程教育服务的能力,以便缓解日益增长的远程教育服务的压力。但是,这些改革的措施并没有把图书馆的服务包括在内。 因此本论文通过调查研究指出赞比亚大学(UNZA)图书馆在远程教育服务存在的问题,其应起的作用,并给出了图书馆在赞比亚远程教育中能为信息资源共享、物理资源共享、信息素质教育等方面提供支持的建议,为远程教育的发展提供参考。 Lusaka负责此调查研究的数据收集。66个调查者中,46个调查者为赞比亚大学各学院的工作人员,20个调查者为远程教育者。
