莎士比亚与赛撒尔的《暴风雨》中人物身份的后殖民对比研究

【摘要】: 莎士比亚的最后一个剧本《暴风雨》于1611年创作完成,仪仅在几年前第一个殖民地刚刚在新世界建立。因此,其特殊的历史背景使得这部剧不同与莎士比亚的诸多其它剧本,并为此剧渲染了殖民主义的色彩。即使不作任何改动或改编,《暴风雨》这个剧本就已经在呼唤着对它的殖民主义解读;而当赛撒尔改写此剧本时,已有学者在殖民主义视角下对《暴风雨》作了解读与分析。赛撒尔的《暴风雨》是对莎氏《暴风雨》的重写,填补了莎士比亚所隐藏的空白,因此那些被遗忘的便可以被忆起并言说。而且,赛撒尔以莎剧《暴风雨》为范式,反映出欧洲对于他者的态度受到了当时政治文化背景的很大影响,并且突出强调了欧洲对新世界殖民的险恶后果。鉴于这两个剧本,尤其是赛撒尔的《暴风雨》,并未得到中国学界的太多关注,本论文便提出了这样的疑问,即莎士比亚的剧本如何言说了殖民主义话语,而赛撒尔又是如何在后殖民语境下解读剧本中的主要人物的。为了解答这些问题,本论文借用了爱德华·萨义德,安东尼·葛兰西,罗伯特·菲利普森,霍米·巴巴及斯皮瓦克的一些后殖民理论观点,仔细地对比和分析了两个剧本中共有的三个人物的不同身份。 论文共分三章进行论述: 第一章依据东方主义理论对比和分析了普洛斯彼罗的不同身份,进而揭示出赛萨尔改写的莎士比亚的《暴风雨》是对欧洲殖民主义的一种回应。 第二章集中讨论两个凯力班的不同身份。 第三章聚焦爱丽尔的不同身份问题。 最后,本论文指出虽然在两个剧本中普洛斯彼罗都被视为一个殖民者,而凯力班与爱丽尔都被标记为“他者”,但他们的不同作用以及剧作家的不同态度都蕴含在他们的不同身份之中。
[Abstract]:Shakespeare's last play, the Storm, was written in 1611, only a few years ago when the first colony was established in the New World. And the play has the color of colonialism. Even if nothing is changed or adapted, the Tempest is already calling for a colonial interpretation of it; and when Sesar rewrote it, Some scholars have interpreted and analyzed Tempest from the perspective of colonialism. Thesare's Tempest is a rewriting of Thesar's Tempest, which fills in the blank hidden by Shakespeare. So the forgotten ones can be remembered and spoken, and, in the paradigm of Shakespeare's Tempest, the European attitude towards the other was greatly influenced by the political and cultural background of the time. And it highlights the pernicious consequences of European colonization of the new world. In view of the fact that these two plays, especially Sesar's Tempest, have not received much attention from the Chinese academic community, this paper raises such a question. How Shakespeare's plays speak of colonialism, and how Saisal interprets the main characters in the postcolonial context. To answer these questions, this paper borrows Edward said. Anthony Gramsci, Robert Phillips, Homi Baba, and Spivak's postcolonial theories carefully contrast and analyze the different identities of the three characters shared in the two plays. The thesis is divided into three chapters:. The first chapter contrasts and analyzes Prospero's different identities according to Orientalism theory, and then reveals that Cesar's adapted Shakespeare's Tempest is a response to European colonialism. Chapter two focuses on the different identities of the two classes. The third chapter focuses on the different identity of Ariel. Finally, the thesis points out that although Prospero is regarded as a colonizer in both plays, Both Kelliban and Ariel are labeled "the other", but their different roles and different attitudes of playwrights are contained in their different identities.
