【摘要】：作为维多利亚时代最伟大的作家,狄更斯在英语文学世界中的地位仅次于莎士比亚。他游刃有余地穿梭于多个角色之中:记者、演员、畅销书作家、法律史家、杂志主编、朗诵家、慈善家等,其作品在世界范围内有着深刻的影响。除了小说等作品外,狄更斯一生还留下了许多书信。书信在人类交流与沟通的历史上占有重要地位,而且还是一种重要的文学文体。许多作家酷爱写信,擅长写信,把写信当作表达个人见解、抒发一己情怀的重要途径。他们的书信既是心灵的倾诉,又是情感的流溢,宛如一把开启心扉的钥匙,可以帮助读者探索和理解作家的内心世界,是了解和研究作家的重要资料。因此笔者选取了《狄更斯书信精选》作为翻译实践。英国著名的翻译家和翻译理论家彼得·纽马克将文本分为三类:表达型文本、信息型文本和召唤型文本。同时,他在《翻译问题探讨》一书中提出语义翻译和交际翻译两种翻译方法,并根据文本类型的特点采用不同的翻译策略。没有任何一个文本是纯粹的表达型文本、信息型文本或召唤型文本,几乎任何文本都含有这三种文本的功能,只是侧重不同,且任何翻译活动在一定程度上都是交际翻译和语义翻译,只是根据文本特点在二者之间侧重不同。本报告以《狄更斯书信精选》的翻译为研究对象,以纽马克的语义翻译和交际翻译为理论依据,从词汇、句子和修辞三个方面探讨如何采用语义翻译保持原文的写作特点,同时使用交际翻译确保译文的可读性,以期为日后相似文本的翻译提供有价值的参考。
[Abstract]:As the greatest writer of Victorian times, Dickens is second only to Shakespeare in English literature.He has a wide range of characters: journalists, actors, best-selling writers, legal historians, magazine editors, recitators, philanthropists, and so on, whose works have a profound impact on the world.In addition to novels and other works, Dickens left many letters in his life.Correspondence plays an important role in the history of human communication and communication, and it is also an important literary style.Many writers are fond of writing letters and are good at writing letters as an important way to express their opinions and feelings.Their letters are not only the talk of the heart, but also the overflow of the emotion. Like a key to open the heart, they can help the reader to explore and understand the writer's inner world, and it is the important material to understand and study the writer.Therefore, the author chooses Dickens' Epistles as translation practice.Peter Newmark, a famous English translator and translation theorist, divides texts into three categories: expressive text, informational text and summoning text.At the same time, he puts forward two translation methods, semantic translation and communicative translation, and adopts different translation strategies according to the characteristics of text types.No text is purely expressive, informational or evocative, and almost any text contains the functions of these three texts, with a different focus.To some extent, any translation activity is communicative translation and semantic translation.Taking the translation of Dickens' Epistles as the research object and Newmark's semantic translation and communicative translation as the theoretical basis, this report explores how to use semantic translation to maintain the writing characteristics of the original text from three aspects: vocabulary, sentence and rhetoric.At the same time, communicative translation is used to ensure the readability of the translation, so as to provide valuable reference for the future translation of similar texts.
