意识形态操纵下The Good Earth的两个汉译本比较研究

【摘要】：自20世纪70年代起,翻译研究视角开始从纯语言层面的转换转向探讨文化层面各个因素对翻译活动的影响和制约。在翻译研究的“文化转向”下,对翻译实践的探讨被置于更为广阔的文化语境之中,不仅关注翻译的内部研究,即从文本到文本的转换过程,而且关注翻译的外部研究,强调意识形态、文化、历史等对翻译活动的影响,因而拓展了研究视域,为翻译研究提供了一个全新的视角。勒菲弗尔的翻译观的特点是把翻译研究置于宏大的现实背景中,作为社会意识形态的一种表现来加以考察。意识形态被认为是影响翻译实践的一个非常重要的因素。本论文从意识形态操纵的角度对The Good Earth在中国时隔大半个世纪的两个汉译本进行对比分析,以期弄清意识形态是否对这两个汉译本的翻译有影响、在哪些方面影响以及这两个译本在意识形态影响下翻译的异同。两个译本分别为胡仲持翻译的由开明书店于1933年出版的版本和王逢振教授翻译的由人民出版社于2010年出版的版本。通过采用描述性定性分析的方法对比分析上述两个译本,本论文分别描述了两个译本产生的社会文化背景和主流意识形态,并且对比分析了意识形态因素对两位译者翻译的操纵,包括翻译前译本的选取、翻译过程中翻译方法的选择以及翻译完成后译本的出版。研究发现,在胡仲持和王逢振翻译The Good Earth的过程中均受到了意识形态因素的影响,而且在不同意识形态影响下两译者翻译有相同点和差异。全文共分为五个章节。第一章介绍了本论文的研究背景、研究目的和意义、研究方法、研究问题和论文框架;第二章为文献综述,作者系统梳理了与翻译研究中的意识形态操纵相关的文献以及《大地》的汉译史和前人对它的汉译的研究。第三章是本论文的理论框架,包括五个部分:“文化转向”的起源和发展、社会文化语境与意识形态、意识形态的概念、勒菲弗尔操纵理论和翻译中的意识形态;第四章是本文的主体部分,以The Good Earth的汉译本为个案进行对比研究,主要探索了两个译本产生的社会文化背景以及意识形态操纵视角下两个汉译本翻译的差异;第五章为结论部分,总结了本论文的研究发现并指出了其局限性,并从意识形态操控的角度对The Good Earth汉译本的进一步研究提出了建议。通过查阅相关文献,本论文作者发现,目前从意识形态操纵的视角来研究The Good Earth的汉译本的研究并不多,仅有几篇期刊文章,而且并未进行详细叙述。本论文以这些文章的研究成果为出发点继续对The Good Earth的汉译本进行更为深入细致的描写分析。
[Abstract]:Since the 1970s, the perspective of translation studies has shifted from a purely linguistic perspective to a study of the influence and constraints of cultural factors on translation activities. Under the "cultural turn" of translation studies, the discussion of translation practice is placed in a broader cultural context, focusing not only on the internal study of translation, that is, the process of conversion from text to text, but also on the external study of translation. It emphasizes the influence of ideology, culture and history on translation activities, and thus expands the research horizon and provides a new perspective for translation studies. Lefevere's translation theory is characterized by putting the study of translation in a grand realistic background and examining it as a manifestation of social ideology. Ideology is considered to be a very important factor affecting translation practice. From the perspective of ideological manipulation, this thesis makes a comparative analysis of the two Chinese translations of the good Earth in China for more than half a century in order to find out whether ideology has an impact on the translation of these two translations. What is the influence and the similarities and differences between the two versions under the influence of ideology? The two versions were translated by Hu Zhongzhi in 1933 and by Professor Wang Fengzhen in 2010. Through the comparative analysis of the two versions by descriptive qualitative analysis, this thesis describes the social and cultural background and the mainstream ideology of the two versions, respectively. It also makes a contrastive analysis of the manipulation of ideological factors on the translation of the two translators, including the selection of pre-translation versions, the selection of translation methods in the course of translation, and the publication of the translated versions after the completion of translation. It is found that both Hu Zhongzhi and Wang Fengzhen are influenced by ideological factors in the translation of the good Earth, and the two translators have similarities and differences under the influence of different ideologies. The full text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the research background, the purpose and significance, the research method, the research question and the paper frame of this thesis, the second chapter is the literature review. The author systematically combs the literature related to ideological manipulation in translation studies, the Chinese translation history of the Earth and the previous studies on its translation into Chinese. The third chapter is the theoretical framework of this thesis, including five parts: the origin and development of "cultural turn", the social and cultural context and ideology, the concept of ideology, Lefevere's manipulation theory and ideology in translation; The fourth chapter is the main part of this thesis, taking the Chinese translation of the good Earth as a case study, it mainly explores the social and cultural background of the two versions and the differences between the two versions from the perspective of ideological manipulation. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, summarizes the research findings and points out its limitations, and puts forward some suggestions for further research on the good Earth translation from the perspective of ideological manipulation. By referring to the relevant literature, the author finds that there are few researches on the translation of the good Earth from the perspective of ideological manipulation, and only a few journal articles have been published, which have not been described in detail. Based on the research results of these articles, this thesis continues to make a more thorough and detailed descriptive analysis of the good Earth's Chinese translation.
