[Abstract]:The literary thinking of French writer and critic Maurice Brownshaw revolves around the possibility of literature. This paper discusses Brownshaw's unique concept of literary inspiration by analyzing the relevant explanations in Literary Space and other texts. The question of inspiration has been neglected in previous studies, but it is crucial to understand and evaluate Brownshaw's literary thought. By analyzing the key words of inspiration, origin, subject, exterior, boundary and crossing the boundary, this paper points out that the discussion of Brownshaw's concept of inspiration has well presented a core topic of contemporary literary theory. The absence of the author in the text. Crucially, Brownshaw's view of literary inspiration is complex in that he is different from both ancient Greece and romanticism, reminding us of the self and the other in the writing that seeks inspiration. Internal and external as well as active and passive duality.
