《流浪地球》翻译报告

【摘要】：科幻小说是随工业文明崛起而诞生的文学体裁,众多优秀的西方科幻作品在被译成中文后深受中国读者的喜爱;同时,尽管在当代中国也涌现出了一批优秀的本土科幻作品,但人们对中国科幻小说英译的关注度仍然相对较低。一方面,准确、地道、流畅的英语译文将会为优秀中国科幻作品走向世界发挥巨大的助力作用。而另一方面,科幻文本在词汇上具有自创式术语词众多、科学术语密集的特点,这给翻译造成了一定困难;在句法上,由于中英文表达习惯的差异,也有一些在汉英翻译中普遍存在的难点。这些都需要译者在充分理解文意的基础上,选择恰当的翻译策略来处理。本文是关于中国科幻代表作家刘慈欣的短篇科幻小说《流浪地球》汉译英翻译项目的报告。针对中文科幻小说英译过程中自创术语多这一特点,译者在本项目执行过程中使用计算机辅助翻译工具以确保术语翻译的正确性和一致性,同时以卡特福德的“翻译转换”理论作为理论指导,对《流浪地球》的翻译过程进行梳理分析,探究结构转换在科幻文本汉译英过程中的作用,试图为中国科幻作品走向世界做些有益的尝试。
[Abstract]:Science fiction is a literary genre born with the rise of industrial civilization. Many outstanding western sci-fi works are loved by Chinese readers after being translated into Chinese. At the same time, despite the emergence of a number of excellent local sci-fi works in contemporary China, the attention paid to the translation of Chinese sci-fi novels into English is still relatively low. On the one hand, accurate, authentic and fluent English translation will play an important role in the world of excellent Chinese sci-fi works. On the other hand, sci-fi texts have the characteristics of numerous lexical terms and intensive scientific terms, which makes translation difficult. Syntactically, there are some common difficulties in C-E translation because of the differences in Chinese and English expression habits. It is necessary for translators to choose appropriate translation strategies on the basis of full understanding of literary meaning. This paper is a report on the translation project of Chinese sci-fi representative writer Liu Cixin's short sci-fi novel "wandering the Earth" into Chinese and English. In order to ensure the correctness and consistency of terms translation, translators use computer-aided translation tools in the process of translating Chinese sci-fi novels into English. Under the guidance of Catford's translation theory, this paper analyzes the translation process of "wandering Earth" and explores the role of structural transformation in the Chinese-English translation of sci-fi texts. Try to make some useful attempts for Chinese sci-fi works to go to the world.
