从关联理论视角看《骆驼祥子》英译中的文化失损问题

　　 语言是文化的载体,由于思维方式和文化传统各不相同,不同民族的语言有着截然不同的文化寓意,语言使用习惯也各不相同。中西方文化间的巨大差异使得汉语和英语中都存在着大量的文化专有项,即为某一语言所对应的文化特有的、承载着文化引申义的词汇和表达。而随着中国国际地位的不断提升,传播好中国文化,推动中国文化走向世界已成为一项有着重要意义的战略。为此,在翻译文学作品时,对文化专有项的处理意义重大,译者不仅要力求准确译出语义,更要注重传达其中所蕴含的文化要素。《骆驼祥子》是老舍先生的代表作,也是京味文学的集大成者。这部小说自1936年问世以来已被多次翻译成英文,在西方世界引起了极大的反响。老舍在《骆驼祥子》中将中国传统文化和独具特色的北京文化展现得淋漓尽致,其中不可避免地运用了大量的文化专有项。本文选取《骆驼祥子》施晓菁译本和葛浩文译本,从关联理论的视角分析两个译本针对不同种类的文化专有项所采取的翻译策略和方法,在此基础上进一步探寻了两个译本在文化专有项翻译方面存在的文化失损现象及其产生的原因,望能引发更多对文化专有项的翻译研究与实践的思考。
