华兹生中国古典诗歌英译中的副文本研究

20世纪60年代以来,西方翻译理论发生了重大的转变,从一般层面上的对两种语言转换的技术问题的研究,深入到译文文本以外因素的研究,即副文本的研究。自此,副文本开始进入翻译研究者的视野。副文本是译者现身的平台,直接体现了译者的翻译动机、翻译策略和意识形态。同时,副文本为研究译本在译入语社会文化语境中的生产、接受和传播机制提供诸多有价值的线索。对译本副文本的研究为翻译研究带来新的视角,拓展了翻译研究的范围,并深化对纷繁复杂的翻译现象的认识。伯顿·华兹生(Burton Watson)是20世纪美国汉学界和翻译界从事汉诗英译的代表人物之一,对于华兹生译本的研究,研究者们只是单纯的针对其文本和翻译方法、翻译技巧的研究,极少对文本以外的材料即副文本的关注。本论文主要以法国文论家热拉尔·热奈特(Gérard Genette)的副文本理论为理论视角,以华兹生的中国古典诗歌译本为素材,主要研究分析了译本中的副文本类型:封面、标题及附属页、年代表、引言、译者注及译本注释等,以及它们在译本中所体现的宏观功能:原文本的扩展与补充功能、译者的现身功能、目的语读者文本阅读和接受的指导功能,以展现副文本作为新的翻译研...
