改写理论视角下葛浩文英译《狼图腾》的二维研究

【摘要】：《狼图腾》自2004年在中国出版以来获得很大成功。2008年的英文版使其成为“创造销售记录的中国小说”。借助勒菲弗尔的改写理论的两大维度,本文先从“意识形态”角度,剖析该小说为何获得美国读者的认可。然后,本文从“诗学”角度,探究译者葛浩文如何使用翻译策略,以过渡中英两种语言间的诗学差异。 在意识形态方面,论文分析了美国读者对中国文化的特殊好奇心、美国社会与民族崇尚自由独立、强调生态保护意识,旨在凸显该小说符合上述三点考量。在诗学方面,论文采用案例研究法,着重研究译者对文化术语词、比喻等的翻译,具体分析其使用的翻译策略。 由此,论文得出《狼图腾》成功译介的两大结论：①符合美国读者对中国文化的特殊好奇心及美国社会和民族的两大关注点；②译者有效使用创译、增益、省略、具体化的翻译方法或技巧。
