【摘要】：《赫索格》是二十世纪后半叶美国最杰出的犹太作家索尔·贝娄的代表作。它描写了主人公摩西·赫索格在经历精神危机后重塑自我的精神之旅；并实现了从开始的混乱、隔离到最终的平静、回归。该作品全面呈现了现代美国知识分子的精神困境。本论文在细读文本的基础上,全面剖析主人公赫索格作为现代犹太知识分子的精神追寻这一主题,即对爱、真实存在和文化身份的追寻。除去引言和结论外,本论文共分为三章。第一章分析赫索格对爱的追寻。追寻爱主要体现在夫妻之爱、亲子之爱、博爱三个方面。赫索格追寻的夫妻之爱是灵与肉的结合,相互包容、相互理解。同时他懂得责任对亲子之爱的重要性。此外,在追寻博爱过程中学会了宽恕敌人,关心全人类的生存现状,接受人性的不完美。第二章探讨赫索格追寻真实存在。他追寻真实自我的过程体现在以下三个方面：肯定自我价值；回归自然；平静地接受死亡。赫索格在追寻真实存在中,重新认识自我以及自然和死亡对存在的意义。第三章阐释赫索格作为犹太人追寻文化身份。作为一个犹太知识分子,赫索格处于传统犹太文化和美国文化的两难境地。在双重文化的冲突中,一方面他表现出了对犹太身份的强烈依恋,坚持保留犹太之根；另一方面他意识到美国化对他的影响,试图将犹太文化与美国文化相融合。总的来说,作为现代犹太知识分子,通过追寻爱,真实存在,文化身份,摩西·赫索格实现了精神追寻之旅。本文旨在通过探讨赫索格的精神追寻之旅,呈现现代犹太知识分子的精神危机。通过研究《赫索格》中主人公的精神追寻,我们能更深刻体会现代犹太知识分子的生存状态,以及贝娄对现代人精神危机的人文主义情怀。
[Abstract]:Herzog is the masterpiece of Saul Bellow, the most outstanding Jewish writer in America in the second half of the twentieth century.It describes the spiritual journey of the protagonist Moses Herzog to reinvent himself after a spiritual crisis, and realizes the return from chaos at the beginning to serendipity at last.This work presents the spiritual dilemma of modern American intellectuals.On the basis of carefully reading the text, this thesis comprehensively analyzes the theme of Herzog's spiritual pursuit as a modern Jewish intellectual, that is, the pursuit of love, real existence and cultural identity.In addition to the introduction and conclusions, this paper is divided into three chapters.Chapter one analyzes Herzog's pursuit of love.The pursuit of love is mainly embodied in the love of husband and wife, the love of parents and children, and the love of fraternity.Herzog's quest for the love of husband and wife is the union of spirit and flesh, mutual tolerance and mutual understanding.At the same time, he understood the importance of responsibility for the love of parents and children.In addition, in the pursuit of fraternity learned to forgive the enemy, care for the survival of mankind, accept human imperfections.Chapter two discusses Herzog's pursuit of real existence.His pursuit of his true self is embodied in three aspects: affirmation of self-worth, return to nature, and calm acceptance of death.Herzog reconsiders himself and the meaning of nature and death to existence in the pursuit of real existence.Chapter three explains Herzog's pursuit of cultural identity as a Jew.As a Jewish intellectual, Herzog is in a dilemma between traditional Jewish culture and American culture.In the conflict of two cultures, on the one hand, he showed a strong attachment to Jewish identity and insisted on preserving the Jewish root; on the other hand, he realized the influence of Americanization on him and tried to integrate Jewish culture with American culture.In general, as a modern Jewish intellectual, Moses Herzog realized the spiritual pursuit by pursuing love, real existence and cultural identity.The purpose of this paper is to present the spiritual crisis of modern Jewish intellectuals by exploring Herzog's spiritual pursuit.By studying the spiritual pursuit of the protagonist in Herzog, we can get a deeper understanding of the living state of the modern Jewish intellectuals and Bellow's humanistic feelings about the spiritual crisis of modern people.
