平静的博弈—石黑一雄《团圆饭》的认知诗学解读

【摘要】:认知诗学是上世纪90年代兴起的一种新型的文学研究范式,它横跨语言学、文学和认知科学,聚焦于文学语篇意义与体验的互动过程,是一种具有认知维度的阐释学理论。本文拟从语言认知和社会心理认知两个维度对英籍日裔小说家石黑一雄的短篇小说《团圆饭》进认知诗学解读,通过“文本语言→人物心理→文化现实”的阐释模式达到对主题意义的揭示。作为石黑一雄为数不多的短篇之一,《团圆饭》具有浓厚的神秘主义和悬疑色彩,被学者认为是对“最后的晚餐”的寓言;加之小说采用第一人称叙述,冷静而克制,使文本充满了不确定性和开放性,客观上要求读者的体验与文本互动,与作者一同完成主题意义的构建。为此,本文首先运用文本世界理论分析小说的文本结构和和语言,发现小说中主要人物问平静而谦卑有礼的对话之下暗藏着一个充满冲突的亚文本世界层。主要人物问相互冲突的情态世界在推动小说情节发展的同时也揭示了父亲西西弗斯式的悲剧命运。随后本文运用归因理论分析父亲对主要事件的看法和归因,揭示出父亲具有双重性格,这种性格避免了“父亲带着全家自杀”的悲剧,从而说明小说不是寓言“最后的晚餐”。通过解开小说的悬疑,文章指出文本世界之间的冲突一方面强化了读者的情感反应,使小说产生移情式的日本美学特点——‘物哀”,表现出作者女性主义的语篇意识;另一方面也体现了日本文化中两种亚文化的博弈,即代表包容、平和、理解的日本樱花文化与强势、专横、对生命漠视的武士刀文化之间的博弈。这两种文化的博弈实质上是对生命与尊严孰轻孰重的终极问题的文化性反映。本文对《团圆饭》的认知诗学解读也从实践上证明了认知诗学具有独特的阐释力,而不是学界普遍认为的那样,只注重“过程”而不是“结果”。
[Abstract]:Cognitive poetics is a new literary research paradigm developed in the 1990s. It spans linguistics, literature and cognitive science and focuses on the interactive process of literary discourse meaning and experience. It is a epistemic hermeneutics theory.This paper attempts to analyze the short story "reunion dinner" by British Japanese novelist Ishihiro Shih from the perspectives of language cognition and social-psychological cognition.Through the interpretation mode of "text language and characters' psychology and cultural reality", we can reveal the meaning of theme.As one of Ishihiro's few short stories, reunion dinner has a strong mysticism and suspense, which is regarded by scholars as a fable to "the Last Supper". In addition, the novel uses first-person narration and is calm and restrained.The text is full of uncertainty and openness, and objectively requires the reader's experience to interact with the text and to complete the construction of thematic meaning together with the author.Therefore, this paper first analyzes the text structure and language of the novel by using the theory of text world, and finds that the main characters in the novel have hidden a layer of conflict in the subtext world under the quiet and humble dialogue.The main characters question the conflicting modality world, which not only promotes the development of the novel plot, but also reveals the tragic fate of the father Sisyphus.Then this paper analyzes the father's view and attribution of the main events by using the attribution theory, and reveals that the father has a dual character, which avoids the tragedy of "the father taking the family to commit suicide", and thus shows that the novel is not the fable "the Last Supper".By unraveling the suspense of the novel, the article points out that the conflict between the text worlds on the one hand strengthens the readers' emotional response, and makes the novel produce the transference of the Japanese aesthetic characteristics-"object mourning", which shows the author's feminist discourse consciousness.On the other hand, it also reflects the game between the two sub-cultures in Japanese culture, that is, the Japanese cherry blossom culture, which represents tolerance, peace and understanding, and the samurai sword culture, which is strong, domineering and indifferent to life.The game between these two cultures is essentially a cultural reflection of the ultimate problem of which life and dignity are the most important.The interpretation of the cognitive poetics of reunion dinner also proves that cognitive poetics has a unique explanatory power in practice, not that the academic circles generally believe that the cognitive poetics only pays attention to "process" rather than "result".
