从意象图式理论的视角看《怜悯》的艺术特征

【摘要】：《怜悯》是托尼·莫里森的新作，讲述了美国奴隶制尚处于萌芽阶段的十七世纪末期，在弗吉尼亚的一个农场里生活或工作的几位人物的命运纠葛。本文主要使用约翰森等的认知语言学的意象图式理论为支点，受认知诗学、认知叙事学和认知文体学等方面研究的启发，试图将意象图式运用到更广阔的文学研究视域，通过对《怜悯》中的不同意象图式的形成、转变和投射的分析，表现小说人物的心理特征和解释他们的行为活动，同时体现图式给小说带来的独特和具有启发性的艺术特征。最终证明意象图式理论也能用于分析小说文本，从而使《怜悯》的研究更加多元化，也为目前对该小说相对较少的研究增砖添瓦。
[Abstract]:Pity is a new work by Tony Morrison about the fate of several people who lived or worked on a Virginia farm in the late 17th century, when slavery was still in its infancy. This paper mainly uses the theory of image schema in cognitive linguistics as its fulcrum, inspired by the study of cognitive poetics, cognitive narratology and cognitive stylistics, and tries to apply image schema to the wider field of literary research. Through the analysis of the formation, transformation and projection of different image schemas in "pity", the psychological characteristics of the characters in the novel and the explanation of their behavior and activities are represented, and the unique and enlightening artistic features brought to the novel by the schemata are embodied at the same time. Finally, it is proved that the theory of image schema can also be used to analyze the text of the novel, so that the study of pity is more diversified, and it also adds to the relatively few researches on the novel at present.
