【摘要】：索尔·贝娄(1915—2005)是美国战后文坛一位重要作家。1924年,索尔·贝娄全家随着移民大潮搬迁到美国的芝加哥,当时的芝加哥正处于美国工业化蓬勃发展时期,芝加哥的物欲横流对贝娄产生了强烈的冲击。贝娄在芝加哥成长、工作近三十年,身为具有浓烈自传色彩的作家,芝加哥的城市生活成为他多部小说的创作背景。贝娄一生著述颇多,他的短篇小说、长篇小说都对芝加哥表现了极大的关注,体察了芝加哥城市居民的生存状态和精神追求。本文立足于此,运用“文学中的城市”的相关理论,旨在通过发掘贝娄小说中的芝加哥形象,探讨贝娄独特的价值体系和审美个性。本文共分为六个部分,其中正文四章。绪论部分主要介绍国内外研究现状、本文切入点及“文学中的城市”理论研究方向和方法。第一章：贝娄与芝加哥。俄国文化、英国文化、犹太文化交织在贝娄的价值体系里,他成为芝加哥乃至整个美国文化的“边际人”,也玷辱是这个身份使他获得审视芝加哥城市生活的独特视角。芝加哥的城市生活对贝娄走向文学道路产生了多方面的影响。第二章：粗暴之城。芝加哥的粗暴远近闻名,这也是它区别于美国其他城市的重要特点。黑帮火拼、犯罪凶杀是芝加哥粗暴的重要表现,这影响了贝娄小说主人公的塑造。第三章：移民之城。芝加哥有着多个移民聚集区,贝娄在小说中展示了不同类型移民的美国化方式和进程。第四章：欲望之城。芝加哥的务实追求与金钱至上的美国价值观相一致,同时芝加哥同纽约一样成为性欲泛滥的城市。结语部分,贝娄并非是一位局限于芝加哥的地域作家,他的作品拥有独特的广度和深度。
[Abstract]:Saul Bellow (1915-2005) was an important postwar writer in the United States. In 1924, the Saul Bellow family moved to Chicago, the United States, along with the tide of immigrants, when Chicago was in the midst of a period of vigorous industrialization in the United States. The flow of physical desire in Chicago had a strong impact on Bellow. Bellow grew up in Chicago and worked for nearly 30 years. As an autobiographical writer, Chicago's urban life became the background of his novels. Bellow wrote a lot in his life. His short stories and novels all showed great concern to Chicago and observed the living state and spiritual pursuit of Chicago residents. Based on this, this paper aims to explore Bellow's unique value system and aesthetic personality by exploring the image of Chicago in Bellow's novels by using the relevant theory of "the City in Literature". This paper is divided into six parts, including four chapters. The introduction part mainly introduces the present situation of domestic and international research, the breakthrough point of this article and the direction and method of the study of "the city in literature". Chapter one: Bellow and Chicago. Russian culture, English culture and Jewish culture intertwined in Bellow's value system. He became a marginal man in Chicago and even the whole American culture. The city life of Chicago had many influences on Bellow's way to literature. Chapter two: rough City. Chicago is known for its rudeness, which is an important feature of its distinction from other American cities. Gang fighting and criminal murder are important manifestations of Chicago's brutality, which influences Bellow's portrayal of the protagonist. Chapter three: the city of immigrants. There are many immigrant communities in Chicago, and Bellow shows the Americanization of different types of immigrants in his novels. Chapter four: the City of desire. Chicago's pragmatic pursuits are consistent with its money-first American values, and Chicago, like New York, has become a lust-ridden city. In the conclusion, Bellow is not a regional writer confined to Chicago, his works have a unique breadth and depth.
