《欲望号街车》中的悲剧英雄布兰琪

【摘要】：田纳西·威廉斯是美国南方文学的杰出代表，在美国戏剧界享有崇高的威望，是继奥尼尔后最伟大的剧作家之一。他在一生中创作了无数的戏剧佳作，这些戏剧作品与其人生经历及当时历史背景有着千丝万缕的联系。其中，《欲望号街车》是他最具盛名的作品之一。它于1948年为田纳西·威廉斯赢得了普利策戏剧奖，从而享誉戏剧界。《欲望号街车》描述了淑女布兰琪从南方梦幻庄园到新奥尔良妹妹家中遭受精神和身体方面的打击以致于被送至疯人院的故事。学术界对主人公布兰琪的研究主要侧重于布兰琪的人物性格、悲剧成因，或是从与当时时代背景相关联的父权社会或女性主义角度进行分析，而鲜有人把布兰琪作为“悲剧英雄”作为切入点进行分析阐述。本论文作者将从“悲剧英雄”入手，对主人公布兰琪做出综合性分析。此论文将重点研究以下三个问题：一、为什么布兰琪可以被看作是一位悲剧英雄？二、为什么布兰琪能够被塑造为一位悲剧英雄？三、是什么因素导致了布兰琪的悲剧人生？ “悲剧英雄”这一术语可以追溯到古希腊时期。随着历史的发展，可以担任“悲剧英雄”的角色历经了从神到英雄再到普通人的改变。这对“悲剧英雄”内涵的扩展有着重要的意义，也为本文的研究提供了可行性。 田纳西·威廉斯作为一个美国南方作家，他的作品给予了南方淑女诸多的关注。他笔下的南方女性具有着独特的特点。她们虽然孤独、懦弱、痛苦，却一生跟命运与时代做着不懈的斗争。《欲望号街车》作为一部现代美国戏剧，其主人公布兰琪作为南方传统文化的代表，在拥护南方传统文化和追寻女性权利与自由方面做出了巨大的牺牲，这也是她作为“悲剧英雄”的精神所在。这种精神的塑造与悲剧理论的发展以及威廉斯的个人经历有着不可割舍的联系。然而，，布兰琪终抵不过个人性格缺陷、家庭以及社会形势的牵绊，最终走上了一条“不归路”。
[Abstract]:Tennessee Williams is one of the greatest playwrights after O'Neill. In his life, he created numerous excellent plays, which are inextricably linked to his life experience and historical background at that time. Among them, desire Street car is one of his most famous works. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Tennessee Williams in 1948. The Street car of desire describes the story of Lady Bran Kee being sent to a madhouse from her southern Neverland estate to her sister's home in New Orleans. The academic research on the protagonist Bran Kee mainly focuses on the characters of Bran Qi, the causes of tragedy, or from the perspective of patriarchal society or feminism related to the background of the times. But few people take Bran Qi as the tragic hero as the breakthrough point to carry on the analysis elaboration. The author will make a comprehensive analysis of the protagonist Bran Qi from tragedy Hero. This paper will focus on the following three questions: first, why can Bran Qi be regarded as a tragic hero? Second, why can Bran Qi be portrayed as a tragic hero? Third, what causes Bran Qi's tragic life? The term "tragic hero" dates back to ancient Greece. With the development of history, the role of "tragic hero" has changed from god to hero to ordinary people. This is of great significance to the expansion of the connotation of "tragic Hero" and provides the feasibility for the study of this paper. Tennessee Williams, as a southern American writer, paid much attention to Southern ladies in his works. The southern women in his works have unique characteristics. Although they are lonely, cowardly and painful, they struggle with fate and the times all their lives. As a modern American drama, the protagonist, Bran Qi, is the representative of the traditional culture of the South. She made great sacrifices in supporting the traditional culture of the South and pursuing the rights and freedoms of women, which is her spirit as a tragic hero. The shaping of this spirit is closely related to the development of tragedy theory and Williams' personal experience. However, Bran finally failed to overcome personality defects, family and social constraints, and finally embarked on a "no return."
