从空间角度解读迈克尔坎宁安的《时时刻刻》

【摘要】：《时时刻刻》是迈克尔·坎宁安最著名的小说之一，该书为其赢得了1998年的福克纳小说奖和1999年的普利策小说奖。书中讲述了被同一本书——《达洛维夫人》影响的三位不同时代女性一天中发生的故事，这三位女性分别是1923年的弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫、1949年的劳拉·布朗以及二十世纪末的“达洛维夫人”。本书曾被从女性主义角度、互文性角度、现代主义角度、存在主义角度以及酷儿理论的角度研究过，而从未被从空间角度解读。鉴于此，本文试图从空间理论的角度对该书进行分析。通过对三位女主人公历史空间、物理空间、身体空间和心理空间的分析，本文表明维多利亚时期和现代时期的女性都在不同程度，或以不同形式被囚禁在狭小的空间当中。有些被束缚在家中、有些被囚禁在乡村，，即使是现代的都市女性也无意识地被束缚在家中，或是商店等有限的空间当中。因此，本文得出结论，现代女性依然囚禁在有限的空间当中，而女性应当意识到这一点并从思想上、身体上扩大自己的空间。通过对《时时刻刻》的空间解读，笔者希望能够引起国内学者对空间理论和该小说的关注。
[Abstract]:"all the time" is one of Michael Cunningham's most famous novels, which won the Faulkner Prize in 1998 and the Pulitzer Prize in 1999. The book tells the story of three women of different ages who were influenced by the same book, Mrs. Dalloway, during the day, in Virginia Woolf in 1923. Laura Brown in 1949 and Mrs. Dalloway at the end of the twentieth century. The book has been studied from a feminist perspective, an intertextuality perspective, a modernist perspective, an existentialist perspective, and a queer theory, but never from a spatial perspective. In view of this, this paper tries to analyze the book from the angle of space theory. By analyzing the historical space, physical space, body space and psychological space of the three heroines, this paper shows that the women of Victorian period and modern period are in different degrees or imprisoned in different forms in the narrow space. Some are tied up at home, some are imprisoned in the countryside, and even modern urban women are unconsciously confined to their homes, or to limited spaces such as shops. Therefore, this paper concludes that modern women are still confined in limited space, and women should realize this and expand their space physically and ideologically. Through the spatial interpretation of "every hour", the author hopes to attract the attention of domestic scholars to the theory of space and the novel.
