从文体视角看《了不起的盖茨比》

文学文体学是连接语言学和文学批评的桥梁。基于对文学语言现象的客观描述,文学文体学探索作品的主题意义和美学效果如何通过不同的语言选择来实现和增强,从而有助于提供一种更为客观的文学作品的阐释和鉴赏方式。从文体学角度看,文学文本的价值在于形式和内容的统一,因此,文学文体学专门研究表现主题的文学语言的选择。就小说而言,文学语言的形式涉及宏观和微观两个层面。微观层面的文体分析审视诸如词汇特征、语法特征、修辞手段、语境和句间照应等; 宏观层面的文体分析则研究构建整部作品的方式,包括小说的叙述视角和人物话语的不同表达形式。本篇论文以《了不起的盖茨比》的详细文体分析为范例,试图阐明一部小说的主题意义和美学效果是如何通过作者的语言选择和叙述技巧得以实现的,从而证明较为全面的文体观念有助于更好,更深刻地理解叙述作品的主题和文学意义。通过从文体学角度分析揭示《了不起的盖茨比》的风格特点,我们可以肯定,文体分析,既培养了我们对语言使用的敏感度,又为文学鉴赏铺平了道路。因此,将文体学引入到文学阐释和鉴赏中,使文学批评家具备适当的文体分析能力是大有用处、也是及其必要的。
