【摘要】：本文用女性成长小说理论对《湖滨饭店》进行解读，从人物形象和作品结构两个层面探究作品中的成长小说特性，发现并挖掘以伊迪斯·霍普为例的知识女性对真爱、婚姻和女性尊严的大胆与不懈的追求；并对作品中与传统成长小说和传统女性成长小说的不同点加以思考，，进而揭示布鲁克纳对于中年知识女性成长的关注。本文旨在通过对《湖滨饭店》的文类分析，深化对伊迪斯·霍普这位中年知识女性的精神成长的理解，激发对其精神成长背后深层原因的思索，同时为这部小说的研究和布鲁克纳的研究提供新的思考方向。
