【摘要】：文学期刊以组织和选择的方式生成并记录着一个时期主流的文学面貌,当代文学创作格局的形成、当代文学思潮的发生及当代生产机制的运行均与文学期刊有着不可分割的联系。在复杂的关联性中,当代文学期刊为当代文学提供了丰富的史料,为当代文学制度的考察提供了有效性样本,因此从文学期刊角度考察文学史复杂面貌,从文学期刊发展状态来观照文学的发展事实和发展态势是研究当代文学的一种必要性工作。本文以《当代》作为研究对象,梳理《当代》创刊至今的发展历程,考察《当代》对中国当代现实主义文学的构建,通过《当代》文学生产过程透视当代文学生产制度,整体性观照《当代》与中国当代文学深刻的内在联系,从而实现对当代文学的考察。第一章通过史实、史料对《当代》的文化品格作以论述。在社会转折时期的文艺新生中,《当代》在人民文学出版社的全社共建下诞生,其创刊号做出了“反映当代生活、实行百花齐放”的整体定位,并确立了《当代》杂志“文学种类齐全、长篇纪实突出”的基本格局。通过对创刊号的考察,确认《当代》“直面人生、贴近现实”的现实主义立场的话语资源为革命现实主义,杂志意图在未来发展中构建广阔的现实主义风格,其整体性的现实主义追求使之在实践中显示出以深邃的历史意识为指导,清醒地认识和理解现实关系的变化,准确体察和把握社会生活,真实地揭示各种社会矛盾的整体倾向。第二章具体考察了《当代》与新时期以来的文学思潮的互文性关系,杂志在对思潮的选择与舍弃间形成整体面貌,突显个体风格。《当代》在实践中比较重视的文学思潮包括八十年代的改革文学、九十年代的官场文学和新世纪以来的底层文学,贯穿三个时代和三种潮流的内在线索是对社会问题的关注,显现出《当代》的现实主义精神内涵。杂志对先锋文学、现代派文学、新状态等的忽略源自以上潮流与《当代》宏阔、雄浑的现实主义美学风格的差异。《当代》所构建的不仅仅是各成一派的文学潮流,它也丰富了当代中国现实主义文学的一脉。第三章通过文本分析辨明《当代》三十余年发展历程中的现实主义流变。首先,《当代》的现实主义作品在人物塑造上呈现出从类型化的典型性到经验化的真实性的变化,从八十年代初期作品中对典型人物的极度突出并明晰分类,到九十年代弱化类型化的典型并将赋予主要人物以道德和文化意义,再发展到新世纪出现多个人物形象并置,强调人物日常经验的真实性,又注入超越日常经验的宏大精神意义。其次,在结构形式上,八十年代中期以前以二元对立的形式为主流,当现实主义文学不断自我更新,新的文学结构模式在摸索中逐渐产生,多元共生的结构在新世纪以后成为最基本的内部形式,这种从二元对立到多元共生的过渡是《当代》现实主义作品结构的大致流向。最后,在艺术技巧上,由最初借鉴西方创作技巧到日渐融合。第四章论述《当代》的文学生产机制。首先,通过编辑理念、主要编辑、稿件处理等考察《当代》在生产活动中受到主流意识形态话语的影响,以及《当代》在这种“限度”下对文学自身“意义”的最大化追求。其次,通过《当代》与文学奖及《当代》与文学批评甄辨文学评介主体力量的转化。最后,分析《当代》与人民文学出版社刊社共生的出版机制。第五章分析《当代》在市场经济的冲击下所作出的理性探索。在生产理念上改变以作者为中心转向以读者为中心。在生产实践上,与影视文学、网络文学等新媒介文学进行互动。探索刊企合作、畅销书等市场化运营机制。《当代》在文学期刊衰退的整体背景下保证自负盈亏,并在市场化的实践中坚守了直面人生、关注现实的主体风格。第六章讨论现实主义对《当代》的启示与反思。一方面,《当代》的编辑实践在现实主义边界中左右彷徨,时而探索广阔丰富的现实主义,时而固守传统的现实主义,杂志受到传统现实主义的固守和困囿大于探索广阔现实主义而产生的失误,传统现实主义追求使《当代》选发的作品显示出一种片面要求宏观覆盖性的倾向,消解了复杂的审美差异,对意识形态话语的倾斜使其受到与之强势共谋的责难。另一方面,现实主义赋予杂志以庄严的使命感和责任感,同时为其提供源源不断的动力,使之在混动纷繁的市场经济大潮和迅速的科技力量革新中葆有生命活力。
