【摘要】：在上个世纪20年代初,对乡土的眷恋与反思成为当时中国文坛一股崭新的潮流,很多作家投身其中。在鲁迅这竿文艺大纛的指引下,一些曾经有过童年、青年时期乡村生活体验和记忆而今蛰居城市的“边缘”文化者,以其新潮的目光对曾经生活过的故乡进行回忆与反思的同时,对家乡封闭的世俗加以理性的审视和批判,出现了大量的乡土文学作品,诞生了一批卓有才华的青年作家,而王鲁彦就是这群乡土作家中的佼佼者。王鲁彦作为具有叛逆意识的新一代知识分子,经过“五四”运动洗礼,流淌在其血液中的是积极的改良社会的启蒙意识与拯救因子,他在思想和追求上旗帜鲜明地以鲁迅马首是瞻;他给自己小说创作定位为启蒙家乡农民愚昧、封闭、落后的小农意识,唤醒其追求新生活的觉悟,进而达到冲破家乡农民破旧的传统观念的篱笆、挣脱不思进取的封建思想的精神枷锁,进而帮助这些乡民成为新型农村和新生活的开拓者。为此,他通过自己对所生活过的、记忆中熟悉的浙东地区特殊的风土人情、与众不同的地域文化、淳朴而又封闭、落后的民风民俗全方位的审视与深沉的思考,用他手中的笔将乡民愚昧、狭隘、自私、保守的性格进行了入木三分的刻画与揭露,生动地展现了二十世纪20年代浙东农村原生态的生活画卷,塑造了一个个栩栩如生的浙东农民群体肖像,也为中国文学宝库留下了一笔丰厚的遗产。因此,研究其创作历程以及创作风格对于今天仍然具有积极的现实意义。虽然与同时期的其他乡土作家一样,王鲁彦对于当时中国农村有着共同的思索和使命,但是,他在描写浙东农村以及浙东乡民的小说创作中,却以自己独特的视角和深入的观察、敏锐的感受,写出了不同于中国其他乡村、乡民的独特的地域风俗人情,这使得他的乡土小说得以在诸多的乡土作家群体中独树一帜且形成了自己独特的浙东乡土小说风格。鲁彦的作品最大的特点就是对于浙东乡土风俗的原生态式的“白描”,同时通过对造成浙东民俗形成的历史渊源进行了深入的挖掘,从而揭示出造成浙东农村和村民愚昧、封闭意识深处的最终根源。在作品中,可以清楚地感受到他对家乡封闭落后的现状的毫不留情的批判,同时,也对那些展现人性美好的传统习俗进行热情的讴歌。更值一提的是他的小说创作在对人性假、丑、恶的发掘上,也成为其创作的亮点。透过他作品的人物,我们看到了重视名利、轻视道义、势利浇薄的人性,这种丑恶的陈四桥人性格的一面,集中性的、具有广泛意义的深度刻画极具当时乡民的典型性,在许多研究论述中称之为“陈四桥性格”。另外,侧重于描写人物复杂的心理状态也是鲁彦的小说一大特点,其中以对乡民社会心理和性心理的描写表现出其不俗的写作驾驭功力。同时他的小说总是紧贴时代发展的脉搏,作品跨度从民国军阀混战起,横跨北伐战争并直到抗战爆发这些巨大的社会变迁,这些事件或者作为故事主人公生活的时代背景,同时也成为推动小说人物性格变化的土壤和催化剂以及故事情节发展的有机组成部分,就是今天读来我们依然可以清晰地感受到作品中主人公所处的浓重的时代氛围。一言以蔽之,王鲁彦通过对浙东民风民俗的细致刻画、乡民多重化心理描写和讽刺,达到批判现实的写作目的。他的创作历程,就是告诉我们当前文艺工作者在创作中要贴近生活、走进生活、反映生活,创作出来的作品才具有恒久的生命力,这些也是我们今天重新研究鲁彦创作的意义之所在。
