VOA慢速新闻应用于高中英语听力教学的实证研究

【摘要】:随着社会经济、文化等各方面的发展,以及多媒体发辅助教学技术的日益成熟,传统的高中英语听力素材已经无法满足学生日益增长的需求。在这样的背景下,多渠道挖掘真实语料应用于高中听力教学就十分必要了。VOA慢速新闻作为真实语料的一种,具有题材多样,语言真实和简明扼要的特点,能在一定程度上引起学生的兴趣,展现学生的个性,拓展学生的视野以及最重要的,提高他们的英语听力能力。本文以Krashen的输入假设理论以及情感过滤假设理论作为理论指导,借鉴了国内外真实语料应用于高中听力课堂的相关研究,进行了将VOA慢速新闻应用于高中英语听力课堂的教学实验。实验开始之前,通过对学生进行问卷调查,了解所选样本的可行性以及学生对英语听力课的相关看法,为制定实验计划提供参考。实验中,精心挑选适合学生的VOA慢速新闻作为听力材料,合理规划课堂教学环节,加上通过对学生的访谈了解实验过程中所出现的问题,以便及时纠正,做出调整。实验研究与2016年9月在郑州市某高中二年级的两个班展开,经过一个学期的教学实践,即到2017年1月,通过测试获取两个班的听力成绩,应用统计分析软件对实验组和对照组的学生测试成绩进行统计对比分析,其分析成果显示:实验组的前测平均分、最高分以及最低分分别为17.066,26和8,后测平均分、最高分以及最低分分别为18.148,28和12,对比前测成绩,后测成绩在各方面均有所提升。对照组采用传统听力材料进行听力教学,前测平均分、最高分和最低分分别为17.158,26和8,后测平均分、最高分以及最低分分别为17.193,27和9,对比前测,各方面均有所提升,但涨幅微小。实验组与对照组相比较,实验组在平均分,最高分以及最低分上均略高于对照组。值得注意的是,对照组的前测平均分是高于实验组的,在实验之后,情况发生了逆转,这说明将VOA慢速新闻应用于高中英语听力训练对于提高学生对英语听力的兴趣,尤其是对于学生英语听力能力的提高是有所裨益的。实验证明,实验组的同学,即甲班的同学的英语听力成绩有所上升,VOA慢速新闻的多样性题材与内容激发了他们的好奇心与学习兴趣,学习变得更为主动,同时,VOA慢速新闻提高了他们的见闻,开始涉猎语言背后的文化,当然,最重要的影响使学生的英语听力水平得到了提高。
[Abstract]:With the development of social economy and culture, and the maturation of multimedia assisted teaching technology, the traditional English listening materials in senior high school can no longer meet the increasing demand of students.Under this background, it is very necessary to apply the multi-channel mining of real data to high school listening teaching. As a kind of real corpus, VOA slow News has the characteristics of diverse subjects, real language and concise language.To some extent, it can arouse students' interest, show students' personality, broaden their horizons and, most importantly, improve their English listening ability.Under the guidance of Krashen's input hypothesis theory and affective filtering hypothesis theory, this paper draws lessons from the research on the application of real language materials in senior high school listening classes at home and abroad.The experiment of applying VOA Special News to English listening class in senior high school is carried out.Before the beginning of the experiment, a questionnaire survey was conducted to find out the feasibility of the selected sample and the students' views on English listening class, so as to provide a reference for the development of the experiment plan.In the experiment, the VOA slow news which is suitable for the students is carefully selected as listening materials, and the classroom teaching links are reasonably planned. In addition, the problems in the experiment process are understood through interviews with the students in order to correct the problems in time and make adjustments.The experimental study began in September 2016 in two classes of second grade in a high school in Zhengzhou. After a semester of teaching practice, by January 2017, the two classes obtained their listening scores through tests.The test results of the experimental group and the control group were compared by using statistical analysis software. The results showed that the average score of pre-test, the highest score and the lowest score of the experimental group were 17.066 and 8, respectively.The highest score and the lowest score were 18.14828 and 12 respectively. Compared with the pre-test scores, the post-test scores were improved in all aspects.In the control group, traditional listening materials were used in listening teaching. The average scores of pre-test, maximum and lowest scores were 17.15826 and 8, respectively. The average scores of post-test, the highest score and the lowest score were 17.193 and 9, respectively. Compared with the pre-test, the average score of pre-test was 17.15826 and the lowest score was 17.193, but the increase was small.Compared with the control group, the average score, the highest score and the lowest score in the experimental group were slightly higher than those in the control group.It is worth noting that the average score of pretest in the control group is higher than that in the experimental group. After the experiment, the situation has been reversed, which shows that the application of VOA Special News to senior high school English listening training can improve students' interest in English listening.Especially for the improvement of students' English listening ability.The experiment has proved that the students in the experimental group, that is, the students in Class A, have increased their English listening scores. The diversity of subjects and contents of VOA slow News has stimulated their curiosity and interest in learning, and they have become more active in learning.At the same time, VOA Special News improved their reading and learning, began to dabble in the culture behind the language, and, of course, the most important influence improved students' English listening skills.
