宽带Doherty功放技术研究
[Abstract]:Doherty power amplifier (DPA) is a kind of power amplifier which uses load traction technology to improve the efficiency of output power fallback region. Since its introduction in 1936, 'DPA has been proved to be suitable for modern communication systems using peak-to-average ratio modulation signals. Nowadays, more and more attention has been paid to the research of broadband / multi-band communication systems, so how to improve the bandwidth performance of Doherty power amplifiers has become a hot research topic. This paper designs and implements a wideband power amplifier based on Doherty, and provides a design idea and method of wideband Doherty power amplifier. The main works are as follows: 1) in the Doherty structure, the internal relations of the design parameters (power ratio, bias voltage, power synthesis network), power amplifier parameters and power amplifier performance (output power, drain efficiency, bandwidth) are analyzed. On this basis, a method for calculating the design parameters of Doherty is proposed. 2) based on an equally divided broadband coupler, a new type of unequal wideband coupler is obtained by using the optimization control of ADS. A novel compensation line network is designed to replace the traditional single-segment compensation line. The bandwidth of the power amplifier is about 900 MHz at the expense of matching performance. Moreover, the compensation network can be used as the main debugging module in the later stage of power amplifier debugging. 4) Simulation, processing, debugging and testing the performance of the proposed wideband Doherty power amplifier. The test results show that the wideband DPA achieves an operating band of 900 MHz and an average in-band drain efficiency of more than 30% at 6 dB, which meets the design requirements. Compared with the same type of power amplifier, the relative bandwidth index of the broadband DPA (51.4%) is in the leading level, which proves the design parameter calculation method proposed in this paper and the feasibility of the broadband DPA structure.
