[Abstract]:The theory of plate tectonics has promoted the improvement and progress of basalt theory. The method of judging basalt tectonic environment developed in 1970s has become a hot spot in academic circles. Although it has cooled down gradually, it is still popular in China. Middle oceanic ridge basalt (MORBB) is a kind of basalt which has the most data, the best data quality and the most detailed study. It is the cornerstone of basalt theory. In this paper, the global MORB data are preliminarily excavated by using the Pet DB database data (http: r / www.earthchem.org / petdbr searchan.org / P / petdbr searchn). It is found that the previous theory of judging basalt tectonic environment needs to be further improved. Earlier studies have suggested that N-MORB is a strong loss. However, the present study shows that the composition of MORB has a wide range of variations, including the components from MORB to OIB and IAB, that is, some MORB are not depleted, but relatively enriched. Therefore, basalt tectonic environment discrimination theory and method need to be further improved.
