面向专题地图集创新模式的信息整合设计

【摘要】:专题地图(集)的编制需求多半源自与专题内容相关的部门、研究机构、地图制图人员对于某一社会或自然现象的好奇心和关注点。处在创意产业时代,地图产品需要面对更为多样的用户群体,尤其要考虑到非专业用户的用图需求。此外随着科学观测手段和人类行为感知记录等新技术手段不断优化,数据极大丰富,不同专题的地图集作品层出不穷,各有特色。但在信息设计方面视觉效果的革新相对滞后,很多图集的信息可视化设计仍沿用经典传统模式,其价值更多体现在资料性上,符号化手法仍相对保守。在以上背景下,本文响应在有限载体空间下,专题信息极大丰富条件下的信息整合诉求,探索优化统计类专题地图集信息设计的模式方法。目的是使专题地图产品突破传统专题制图表达形式,注重美学与科学、兼顾表达与功能,以具备时代特征与创意精神的方式,向多元用户群体传达科学内容的关键特征,实现专题信息表达的个性化定制服务,突破"千图一面"的瓶颈。从而进一步实现专题地图集从数据图形化的资料库向信息服务和知识传递终端的功能演进,也使专题地图集在新时代成为更具竞争力的时空信息传播媒介。文章首先结合国内外专题地图集优秀案例和制图者实践经验的总结,从专题地图集的内容与组织结构、功能与表现形式、设计风格和视觉要素等方面提出了一系列信息整合策略。其次,为了使各项策略在地图集编制过程中相得益彰,又提出了将整合策略运用到专题地图集编制中的一般工序。最后,以西北太平洋热带气旋为示例,运用上述时空信息整合策略,设计了印刷环境的统计类专题地图集《西北太平洋热带气旋气候图集(1981-2010)》。验证了创意驱动的时空信息整合设计策略在专题地图集编制过程中的适用性与有效性。
[Abstract]:The compilation needs of thematic maps (collections) come mostly from the curiosity and attention of the departments, research institutes, cartographers concerned with a social or natural phenomenon. In the creative industry era, map products need to face more diverse user groups, especially to consider the needs of non-professional users. In addition, with the continuous optimization of new technical means, such as scientific observation means and human behavior perception recording, the data are extremely rich, and the atlas of different topics are produced in endlessly and each has its own characteristics. However, the innovation of visual effect in information design is relatively lagging behind. Many graphic information visualization design still follow the classical traditional model, its value is more reflected in the information, symbolic approach is still relatively conservative. Under the above background, in response to the demand of information integration under the limited carrier space, the paper explores the mode method of optimizing the information design of statistical thematic atlas. The aim is to make thematic map products break through the traditional thematic cartographic expression form, pay attention to aesthetics and science, give consideration to expression and function, and convey the key features of scientific content to multiple user groups in a manner with the characteristics of the times and creative spirit. Realize the personalized customization service of thematic information expression, break through the bottleneck of "one side of a thousand pictures". In order to further realize the function evolution of thematic atlas from data graphical database to information service and knowledge transfer terminal, thematic atlas will become a more competitive medium of space-time information dissemination in the new era. The article first combines the domestic and foreign thematic atlases outstanding cases and cartographer's practice experience summary, from the thematic atlas content and the organization structure, the function and the manifestation, A series of information integration strategies are put forward in design style and visual elements. Secondly, in order to make the strategies complement each other in the process of atlas compilation, the general procedure of applying the integration strategy to the compilation of thematic atlases is put forward. Finally, taking the tropical cyclone in the Northwest Pacific Ocean as an example, the statistical thematic atlas < Tropical Cyclone Climate Atlas of the Northwest Pacific Ocean (1981-2010) is designed by using the above strategies of spatio-temporal information integration. The applicability and effectiveness of creative driven spatio-temporal information integration design strategy in the compilation of thematic atlases are verified.
