【摘要】：论文以福州马鞍墙为例,来说明一种文化现象在生成与发展过程中,随着社会的变迁所产生的变异,并分析产生变异的成因。在我国传统建筑中,每一个建筑构件的生成都具有特殊的功用。马鞍墙的主要功能是防火,缩小火灾的延烧范围,降低火患的危害程度。另外,在海盗、土匪猖獗的年代,马鞍墙还兼具防御功能。在满足物质功能需求的同时还要满足人们的精神功能,在马鞍墙墙体的装饰图像上,集中体现了人们对生殖崇拜、宗教信仰、移民文化以及生活习性等内容的传达。通过这些图式来解读这些纹饰生成的原因,并对马鞍墙上出现的装饰内容与形式进行追问,发现许多图像在不同的年代、不同的文化背景下,所象征的意义不尽相同。其中,最为主要的是人们对这些图像的诠释产生了误读,使得今天我们在马鞍墙上所看到的装饰图像部分已经脱离了原初的含义,并且以一种约定俗成的象征意义出现。另外,现在部分学者为了论证自己的观点,不惜人为的将两个不相干的内容进行串联、演绎,从而产生了误读。当社会发生变迁后,特别是在民居建筑中,新的建筑材料的出现,势必产生新的建筑构造模式。另外,消防设备的更新,消防部门的职能化与专业化,也使得马鞍墙主要的防火功能日渐式微,逐渐转变成纯粹的形式符号。装饰图像也因装饰材料的更新,以及人们对装饰纹样的误解产生了新的象征含义,进而又丰富了马鞍墙的精神功能。我们透过现象看本质,从马鞍墙功能的生成与变异,可以洞察一个时代、一个区域人们的思想、信仰、趣味和观念的形成与发展过程。
