出值得出的书才有意义

【摘要】：正从一般意义上讲,我们总认为图书(出版)的根本目的是知识积累和文明传承。这当然没有错。可是具体到每一本书,如何判断其具有出版意义,则是很不容易的一件事。我们更容易将畅不畅销,有没有读者(也只是当下读者)愿意购买,来作为决定出版与否的重要标准,甚至是唯一标准。这样做的结果必然是出版的大众化、娱乐化,乃至庸俗化。
[Abstract]:Generally speaking, we always think that the fundamental purpose of books is the accumulation of knowledge and the transmission of civilization. Of course there's nothing wrong with that. But it is not easy to judge the significance of each book. We are more likely to sell poorly, and whether readers (and only current readers) are willing to buy it as an important, or even the only, criterion for deciding whether to publish or not. The result of this is the popularization, entertainment and even vulgarization of publishing.
