《经济学人》杂志个案研究

【摘要】:本文以英国期刊《经济学人》作为研究对象,笔者简要梳理了这本杂志的创刊历史及160多年的发展脉络,着重从编辑和经营两个层面上归纳了它的特色,探讨了它能够在全球范围内取得卓越影响力的原因。全文一共分为五个章节: 第一章介绍了本文的写作缘起,在国际期刊行业受到新媒体日益严重的冲击之时,笔者希望能通过《经济学人》的研究,为我国新闻周刊的发展寻找到一些方法,也为我国对外传播方式的优化提供一些参考。 第二章回顾了这本杂志的发展历程,可以看出《经济学人》经历了从小到大、由弱到强的一个动态变化。而杂志创刊时期定下的“自由贸易”宗旨为杂志的长期生存奠定了坚实的基础。 第三章是对《经济学人》编辑特色的总结,这本杂志的自由主义立场、质朴的文风、别具一格的匿名报道、全球化的视角、独到的事实分析、预测性报道、创造性的数据和图表运用对它的国际影响力和可读性做出了重要贡献。 第四章对它的经营机制进行了解读,从杂志销售和广告销售两个方面分析了它的发行量持续上升、经营收入持续增长的原因,也分析了其品牌链的延伸路径。 第五章的结语部分探讨了《经济学人》杂志对我国时政类杂志的借鉴意义以及对我国增强国际传播能力的启发。
[Abstract]:Taking the British journal the Economist as the object of study, the author briefly combs the history of the magazine's founding and 160 years of development, and summarizes its characteristics from the two aspects of editing and management. The reason why it can achieve great influence on a global scale is discussed. The thesis is divided into five chapters: the first chapter introduces the origin of this paper. When the international periodical industry is hit by the new media, the author hopes to pass the study of the Economist. To find some methods for the development of Chinese Newsweek, and also to provide some reference for the optimization of our country's external communication mode. The second chapter reviews the development of this magazine and shows that the Economist has experienced a dynamic change from small to large and from weak to strong. The aim of free trade set during the magazine's founding period laid a solid foundation for the magazine's long-term survival. The third chapter is a summary of the editorial features of the Economist, the liberal stance of the magazine, the simple style of writing, the unique anonymous reporting, the perspective of globalization, the original analysis of the facts, the predictive report. Creative use of data and charts has contributed significantly to its international influence and readability. The fourth chapter explains its management mechanism, analyzes the reasons of its circulation increasing and operating income increasing from two aspects of magazine sales and advertising sales, and also analyzes the extended path of its brand chain. The last part of the fifth chapter discusses the reference meaning of the Economist magazine to the current political magazine and the inspiration to enhance the international communication ability of our country.
