[Abstract]:Recently, the French National Assembly voted overwhelmingly to pass a new anti-terrorism bill, also known as the Intelligence Act, aimed at updating and modernizing the working methods of the intelligence services. We will further strengthen our ability to deal with various threats to the digital society. Since the terrorist attack in the French weekly Charlie Hebdo in early January 2005, the French government has continuously strengthened security measures and the collection of anti-terrorism intelligence. The recently passed Intelligence Act gives more authority to intelligence agencies to carry out surveillance. It is reported that the bill defines the responsibilities of the French intelligence service and will establish an independent administrative agency "intelligence."
