美国的消防员纪念碑

【摘要】：在美国,消防员享有崇高的社会地位,英勇殉职的消防员更是受到了全社会的崇敬和怀念。1981年,在美国国家消防学院的校园内建立了全国殉职消防员纪念碑;1990年,国会立法将全国殉职消防员纪念园纳入国家纪念地;1992年,国会立法授权成立全国殉职消防员基金会;2001年"9·11"事件后,国会参、众两院通过联合决议案,规定在每年的全国殉职消防员纪念日(10月第一个星期日),所有联邦建筑降半旗致哀。在美国的很多城镇,也都矗立着庄严肃穆的消防员纪念碑、栩栩如生的消防员纪念雕塑,无声地述说着对消防员奉献牺牲精神的深深敬意。
[Abstract]:In the United States, firefighters enjoy lofty social status, and firefighters who died bravely in the line of duty have been revered and remembered by the whole society. In 1981, a national monument to firefighters killed in the line of duty was established on the campus of the National Fire Academy of the United States. In 1990, Congress legislated to incorporate the National Memorial Park of firefighters in the line of duty into the National Memorial, and in 1992, Congress authorized the establishment of the National Foundation for Martyrs in the line of duty. After the September 11 incident in 2001, Congress and the House of Representatives passed a joint resolution requiring all federal buildings to fly flags at half speed on the National Day of Martyrs in the line of duty (the first Sunday of October). In many towns in the United States, there are also solemn firefighters monuments, lifelike firefighters memorial sculptures, silent statements of deep respect for the dedication and sacrifice of firefighters.
