[Abstract]:The concept of Qin-style short sword has been put forward for nearly twenty years, during which the number of short sword unearthed has increased rapidly. It is necessary to adjust the type and age of the short sword. It can be considered as a special cultural factor of Qin people from the aspects of many unearthed quantity of Qin-style short sword, highly unified pattern of animal face, synchronous and orderly evolution and so on. On the basis of unearthed new data, this paper discusses the origin of Qin-style short sword from the aspects of technical tradition and decorative style, which should be traced back to the Central Plains of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and should not be attached to the northern prairie style objects. Through sorting out the data, it can be concluded that the North Hebei Huagge sword and the style sword of the Central Plains are also the continuation and development of the western Zhou Dynasty. At the same time, some physical clues also show that the development and evolution of the willow leaf-shaped short sword in the early Western Zhou Dynasty, the short sword with human face pattern, the short sword in the later stage of the animal grain-handle, and the large number of popular animal face-shaped short swords (Qin-style sword and flower-shaped sword) in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty have been inherited and evolved in an orderly manner.
