沅江地名考

【摘要】：正南朝梁武帝普通三年(522),析益阳县置药山县,治今沅江市三眼塘,亦为药山郡郡治。辖境相当于今年沅江市大部及益阳县北部。随开皇九年(589)废郡,合药山、重华二县为安乐县,属巴陵郡,治原药山县治,辖境与原药山县相当。随开皇十三年(593),治移今沅江市区。隋开皇十八年(593),改安乐县为沅江县,治驻原址。自此沅江称名于世。沅江县何以为名?历有二说,一说以沅水"流水归宿之地"而得名。二说
