从南海地名演化看我国的海洋认知——及英国的海洋殖民意识
[Abstract]:Place names are not arbitrarily named. As a linguistic phenomenon, it is the appearance of human thinking and the mark of human cognitive activity. The South China Sea Islands were first discovered and named by the people of China, and their geographical names evolved from the early shallow and one-sided to the norms of the present era. It reflects the process of our people's cognition of the South China Sea from the initial fear to the later exploration and the final conquest. The naming and renaming of the South China Sea islands by Britain at the beginning of the 19th century, with a clear sense of maritime colonization, was a colonial name that violated the principle of the use of international place names of its owners. In recent years, the South China Sea islands, which our people have some kind of "primitive rights", have fallen into fierce international disputes, and the surrounding countries of the South China Sea have made it easier to place names, put forward claims of sovereignty, and encroach on them. In the 21st century, the ocean has become particularly important, we have to reflect on the traditional ocean consciousness of our country.
