19世纪后半期美国爱尔兰裔排华原因分析

　　十九世纪,大量的爱尔兰移民和中国移民涌入美国。他们都遭受了美国主流文化的排挤。但是,同样遭受歧视的爱尔兰移民在美国排华浪潮中也积极参与排华,将中国移民视为最大的竞争者。本文主要以19世纪后半期在美爱尔兰人与中国人的摩擦与冲突为研究内容,探究爱尔兰移民原本作为美国社会的被歧视对象如何成为排斥中国移民的倡导者,以及爱尔兰移民在美国排华大浪潮中积极参与排华的多方面原因。本文主体部分共三章。第一章聚焦于在美爱尔兰人与中国人的工作竞争。通过分析十九世纪后半期爱尔兰裔和华裔在几个工作领域上的冲突,揭示爱尔兰移民把中国移民看成是最大的工作竞争对手。第二章从政治利益角度出发,分析在排华浪潮中爱尔兰移民与一些爱尔兰裔政治家和党派之间的紧密联系,从中发现爱尔兰移民与这些爱尔兰裔政治家和党派通过参与排华运动,可以达到互利的目的。第三章通过分析爱尔兰裔排华言论,可以发现他们鼓吹种族优劣,迎合美国主流白人文化,积极加入美国白人本土主义等方式宣传华人的低劣,目的就是反衬他们自身的优越性,以达到融入美国主流社会的目的。
