【摘要】：西汉昭帝元始元年(公元前81年)召开了一次讨论盐铁专卖政策和相关社会问题的会议,《盐铁论》是汉宣帝时桓宽根据此次会议记录进行加工整理而完成的一部著作。盐铁会议在霍光的组织下召开,由丞相车千秋主持,会议论辩双方分别是贤良、文学和政府官员,讨论的问题主要集中在盐铁专卖的利与弊、与匈奴的战与和、德治与法治、对儒法两家的评价等四个方面。在辩论过程中贤良、文学在抨击汉代社会弊端的同时,对他们心目中的理想之世 --古代社会也进行了描绘和赞美。他们的社会理想有明显的复古倾向, 主张效仿井田制,反对土地兼并;坚持以农为本,男耕女织,反对大量的劳动力弃农从末,并认为这是导致百姓贫困的重要原因;向往像古人一样过简单朴素、无私无欲的生活,反对华而不实、奢侈浪费。他们不仅描绘了自己的社会理想,还提出了实现这种社会理想的方法,要求为政者从提高自身修养出发,实行德政,用德行来教化百姓,从而形成至德之世。贤良、文学是完美的理想主义者,他们有美好的理想,有改造社会、使所有人都过上幸福生活的良好愿望。但他们有太多的书生意气,把政治、社会问题想象得过于简单化和理想化,所以他们虽然也提出了一些措施, 但终究缺乏实践的可能性,使得他们梦寐以求的理想仅仅只能是一个理想而无法实现。
