【摘要】：正佗城,原名叫龙川城、龙川故城。公元前219年,秦始皇发兵50万征战岭南,赵佗(约公元前240年—公元前137年)被封为副帅,随主帅任嚣率领这50万大军进入岭南。岭南的疆域平定之后,秦始皇三十三年(公元前214年)在岭南设立了南海郡、桂林郡、象郡三郡,任嚣被任为南海郡尉。南海郡之下,设博罗、龙川、番禺、揭阳四县。由于龙川地理位置和军事价值都极其重要,故赵佗被委任为龙川县首任县令,始设龙川县建制,于此筑土砖城,设县治。任嚣病逝后,赵佗袭南海郡尉职,因此赵佗又被尊称为尉佗,龙川城又叫做尉佗城、佗城。自秦代以后,佗城作为龙川县的治所,直到新中国成立之前,一直是龙川县的政治、经济、文化中心。抗日战争时
