从和平解放到离开新疆

【摘要】：1949年9月15日,我秘密抵达迪化后,接触了新疆的高层领导陶峙岳、包尔汉等人,并迅速和迪化各地下进步组织取得了联系,为新疆的和平解放排除了障碍。为了配合解放军驻防新疆,我请示中央后,同新疆三区临时负责人商谈,通过三区提供的农业生产盈余和向人民募捐等方式很快筹措到了粮食,并在抽调的民族军和工作团中开展了深入细致的思想工作,保证了这一任务的顺利完成。我在担任中共中央新疆分局常委、秘书长、宣传部部长等职务期间,起草了《新疆省人民政府委员会目前施政方针》;与王震和分局的同志经过广泛征求意见和深入协商后确定了省人民政府委员会组成人员名单;在少数民族干部中发展了包尔汉、赛福鼎等15人为第一批党员;在王震领导下开展了整编和改造国民党起义部队的工作、开办了地方民族干部训练班、彻底肃清了新疆的反革命力量;对南疆地区进行了农村调查;组织将《毛泽东选集》第一卷翻译成维吾尔文和哈萨克文;帮助王震修改了《新疆军队生产简短总结》;开展了新疆的文化教育工作;等等。1952年10月,我离开新疆,回到北京。
