【摘要】： 赌博，作为一种社会现象，随着历史的延续，存在了几千年，并且流传至今。当今社会，提到赌博，更是妇孺皆知。赌博的猖獗，带来了巨大的危害。赌博的危害也为历代人士所认识，有赌博，就有禁赌，并且随着赌博现象的严重，禁赌的言论也愈益尖锐、激烈，禁赌律令也越来越严厉，然而，带来的结果多半是禁者自禁，赌者自赌。究竟为何产生赌博，，赌博为什么禁而不绝，成都20—40年代的赌博情形又是怎样……这些都是笔者论文研究的范畴。本文在写作上充分利用了搜集的第一手资料，辅以前人研究成果。第一章对成都20—40年代的赌博情况以及时人对成都赌博泛滥的态度等情况进行一个初步的探讨；第二章在总结前人研究的基础上，对赌博的危害进行一个简要的分析；第三章对中央及地方政府为禁赌采取的措施做一个简略的回顾，并且对以上措施所产生的结果及原因进行反思：第四章对赌博无法根本禁绝的原因进行理论及实例上的分析。在原因分析上，将重点和落脚点落实到成都这座城市，从赌博不能禁绝的角度，与前文成都赌博泛滥的情形相互呼应，再一次突出本文的题目、宗旨，即关于成都赌博，力图在行文上前后统一，整篇文章相互照应。最后，对全篇文章进行总结，并在此基础上提出结论。引导人们要正确看待赌博、对待赌博，千万要远离赌博。
