[Abstract]:As a place where prostitutes and brothels are concentrated, the eight hutongs are located in prosperous and downtown cities, adjacent to many commercial and entertainment facilities, and have special symbolic significance in the spatial structure of Beijing in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. This kind of spatial structure has been gradually formed in the early Qing Dynasty, and its causes are related to the high population density, the gender difference between men and women, and the large number of floating population and foreign population. However, it was mainly influenced by the policy that "the Qi Han separated" and the entertainment facilities were expelled from the inner city at the beginning of Qing Dynasty, that is to say, because of the particularity of the Qing regime structure, the outer city actually became the daily social service area of the capital. In the late Qing Dynasty, prostitutes, musicians' permits, registrations and physical examinations in the municipal system affected by Japan and Europe formally recognized the existence of "public prostitution" and imposed regional restrictions on the distribution of existing brothels. After the succession of Beijing Municipal Affairs in the Republic of China, the administrative regulations of the late Qing Dynasty were refined, and the spatial characteristics of the "Red Lantern District", which was located in downtown China, were fixed down.
